Formed in Bangor, Northern Ireland, Two Door Cinema Club (comprised of Alex Trimble, Kevin Baird, and Sam Halliday) began their journey with a unique musical evolution. Initially playing emo-influenced rock with a live drummer, the band eventually stripped down to a trio and embraced laptop-based production, which would define their signature sound. After building buzz with early singles, they caught the attention of the French electronic label Kitsuné, a pivotal force in the indie-dance scene. Recording took place at Eastcote Studios in London and Motorbass studio in Paris, with producer Eliot James at the helm.
