Just weeks after the initial police data dump, a second, even larger leak emerged. In early April 2016, an unencrypted database containing the personal details of nearly 50 million Turkish citizens was posted for sale on the dark web marketplace "Dream Market". The cache was enormous: 49,611,709 records, affecting more than half of Turkey's population of roughly 80 million at the time.
