Born on September 9, 1946, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Seetha Parthiban began her acting career as a child artist in the 1950s. She made her debut in the 1953 film "Ganesh Festival" and went on to appear in numerous films as a young performer. As she grew older, Seetha Parthiban transitioned to leading roles, making her debut as a heroine in the 1964 film "Padikkaadha Medhai." Her early years in cinema were marked by a string of successful films, including "Aalayam" (1967) and "Thangam" (1967), which cemented her status as a rising star.
Seetha's personal life, particularly her marriage to and subsequent divorce from actor-turned-director R. Parthiban, has been a subject of public interest. The two fell in love and married in 1990. The couple had two daughters, P. S. Abhinaya and National Award-winning child artist P. S. Keerthana, and an adopted son, P. S. Raakhi. They decided to part ways in 2001. Despite their separation, both have spoken publicly about maintaining respect for each other. In a recent interview, Parthiban described the years he spent with Seetha as "some of the sweetest times of his life" and said that he does not regret the past, choosing to focus on peace and acceptance. After her divorce, Seetha married TV actor Sateesh in 2010, though that union also ended in a divorce in 2016.
