While staying within the 2.9.x branch is safe for existing projects, upgrading to a later platform (EPLAN Platform 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) is a different process. EPLAN typically requires license updates when moving to newer major versions. Once you upgrade your license to a newer platform, you may lose access to the older 2.9 SP1 version. Before upgrading licenses, consider exporting your project data from the 2.9 environment so that you can import it into the new platform without compatibility issues.
After successful update, the version number should reflect 2.9.4.14642 or a later 2.9.4.x build confirming that Update 4 has been applied.
